Renewing Creative License

Inspired by 'The Creative License' by Danny Gregory back in the early 08's, I started a Design Journal that lasted me till my enrollment into Digipen in Sept '09. Hopefully I'll get it back up and running once again when the semester starts...if the animation or 3D doesn't kill me first.

Just uploaded William O'Connor (illustrator from Wizard of the Coast) link into the Artist Blog section, so check it out!

ELECTRIC VILLAIN DESIGN!
Pretty drastic change of design from the initial sketch, but happy with the new menacing personality of the final character.
Story begins with an idealist and devoted young priest handling a Vatican relic in a high-risk science experiment gone wrong. With tons of voltage and strange relic powers, the priest survives as a twisted villain bent on purging the modern world as God's vengeance against humanity's abuse of science...yep, I tend to daydream a lot.

Just reorganized my links into two sections coz' the awesome blogs just keep on coming!
If anyone has a cool link to share do drop in on my blog yea!

Freelancers - Kendo Rejects!

Lineart work for the concept of 'Freelancers - Kendo Rejects!'.
Featuring an introvert street artist who animates whatever he sprays into life, a samurai who sees dead people, and a psychotic programmer with a fluffy bunny tail charm.
Loosely-based on three very real people who dropped out of kendo back in the NYP days *cough*.

Enjoy!

Fusion 05' - Warboar Sketch Delux!

Based on a drawing piece from my NYP Fusion'05 portfolio, though I took the Warboar for a spin this summer.

Business As Usual - Summer Claymation Project

'Business As Usual' is a summer claymation project produced in Digipen.

Initiated by our drawing lecturer, the claymation began as a casual project to explore the process of claymation. Eventually the casual project evolved into a full-blown production that lasted for two whole months of pain-stalking animation, modeling/sculpturing and post-production.

The story depicts a Western recipe-thief intruding an exotic Chinese restaurant after closing hours one stormy evening. After being forced to serve the cowboy villain, the Chinese boss and chef decided to steal the recipes from the thief instead of turning him in for the bounty money. With the help of their cunning pet snake, the Chinese protagonists managed to outwit the cowboy thief and poison him. But just as the protagonists thought they won it all, the femme fatal snake turns on them and in a final twist possesses both the restaurant and recipes... (sucks to be a human in this film)

Enjoy the clip!

Conceptual Poses

A Digipen assignment whereby we have to design various concepts with the same pose.
It was a tedious assignment and I can't exactly remembered why I did these in school on an weekend. *shrugs*
Nevertheless it was one of the more fun assignment to do.
